Well...I've Done It Now...

Usually I meddle on Thursday's, but this really got to me...

I’ve done it now!

I tend to glance over Substack notifications that pop up on my phone and think, “Hmmm…that sounds interesting, let me get back to that later.” And not swipe on it. But sometimes I see something and it’s either, “I’m gonna read that now” or, “Uh-oh…that can’t be right.”

Well, today I got a pop about someone praying to God to “pound Iran into oblivion.” I had to go check that out. Under that line, (I can’t call that a prayer, that’s a gulf I ain’t willing to cross for nobody), was a remonstration that replied,

I had to think on that. Cause even coming to a conversation late, some things can be very clear. And what John Fancher said resonated in me. I answered in part, then this longer message in whole that said,

“I kind of remember a verse that says, “Bless your enemies, pray for those who curse you.” The Bible verses that mention blessing your enemies include Matthew 5:44, Luke 6:27-28, and Romans 12:14. These passages emphasize the importance of loving and praying for those who persecute you, even while doing good to those who hate you. (Even Google knows this). I also recall God saying “Vengeance is mine, I will repay.” The phrase "Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord" is a biblical quote that appears in both the Old Testament (Deuteronomy 32:35) and the New Testament (Romans 12:19). It signifies that vengeance and retribution are God's domain, not humans', and that individuals should not seek to avenge themselves but rather leave such matters to God's judgment. (Google knew THAT too!)

Don’t drag God into the parts you want to do, without seeing He is the same, yesterday, today and tomorrow. I’ve seen VERY little of Israel calling on the name of the Lord in ANY of this. ANY of it, from the very beginning, until now. And yet, I see SO much support for anything they do. I follow NO plan of men blindly. NONE. I’m expecting we are about to be lambasted and blocked, but I constantly remember the outcome of the people of Israel refusing to consult God and how things go TERRIBLY wrong rushing headlong into conflict without asking Him what to do. I ain’t seen much, if any consulting of God here. I surely haven’t seen praying for your enemy.

A portion of this country is ALSO following some bastardized gospel I’m completely unfamiliar with, it’s my most fervent hope this page is deeply into the Gospel edict that supersedes ALL rhetoric of mankind given that commands-not asks us to Love God, love yourself and love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus Himself said when questioned, 34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[c] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[d] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” That’s Matthew 22:34-40.

Take His words and act on them, Faith without Works is dead. People around the world could be reading these posts, if I’m brought to account for anything at the Bema seat, it’ll be that in this case and many others, I try to err on “What did God say?” And, “What did Jesus do?” Cause I’m PRETTY sure He wouldn’t be standing at the Temple telling Israel to turn Iran and Gaza into a wasteland. Matter of fact, I hear He is actually RETURNING one day. “When Jesus returns after the Tribulation, He defeats His enemies through a combination of divine judgment and the power of His word. He will return in power and glory, accompanied by heavenly armies, to judge the living and the dead. This judgment involves both the destruction of the wicked and the gathering of the righteous.” (Google said that TOO. Marvel upon Marvel!)

In Revelation we are told, 19:11-16 we are told, “Then I saw heaven standing open, and there before me was a white horse. And its rider is called Faithful and True. With righteousness He judges and wages war. He has eyes like blazing fire, and many royal crowns on His head. He has a name written on Him that only He Himself knows. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood,c and His name is The Word of God. The armies of heaven, dressed in fine linen, white and pure, follow Him on white horses. And from His mouth proceeds a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and He will rule them with an iron scepter.d He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. And He has a name written on His robe and on His thigh: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”

With His Word! Hmmm…I do believe that Word is available to us, too. And I think if we are going to use words against our enemies to move heaven to act on our behalf, should they not be the very Word of God. His word. Think on that. At this time, our charge to spread the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ is our most imperative mission, as time is short! Jesus is coming, any blink of the eye, He is coming! And I’d much rather be praying for my enemies and blessing those who persecute, hard as it is sometimes, than praying they’re pounded into the ground and into oblivion. Yes? Good.”

Like I said, I guess it was my off day to meddle, I usually do that on Thursday’s, but on this Barack Obama Day (turning THAT into a yearly celebration now, y’all invited to the Cookout next year), it just struck a chord. We are better than this, and the Jesus inside of us is SURELY better, most ASSUREDLY, better than this.
